NORDIC MYTHS SERIES

NORDIC MYTHS brings together and turns into novel the legends of Norse mythology, the ancestral tales of the Vikings and the Germanic peoples, explaining the universe as the immemorial struggle between opposites, fire and ice.

Each novel can be read independently, but the series as a whole is divided into cycles featuring the best-known gods and heroes --Odin, Thor, Loki, Siegfried, Beowulf, Ragnar Lodbrok... --. The series develops a unitary story arc that climaxes in the cycle of Ragnarök, the Fate of the Gods. The whole history of the universe according to Norse mythology.

A RECREATION PROJECT

As the Vikings had no writing, they did not leave their legends written down. It was not until the Middle Ages, after the end of the Viking Age, that the accounts of their gods were fixed. The sources that have come down to us are fragmentary, full of gaps and late interpretations.

In order to go back in search of the original version - the Viking version - and to carry out the translation into novel format, it was necessary to carry out an exhaustive work of research, recreation and adaptation of the immense narrative body, with the help of experts.

NARRATIVE DIRECTION

My task of narrative direction consisted of establishing the universe with the experts and set the style and tone for the authors by writing the first books. This included designing the complete story arc, the structure in cycles and the plot bible. And, as well, to coordinate the authors in the development of the storylines and later check the narrative continuity in the final texts.

My books on Nordic Myths

To set the style and tone of the series and lay the foundations for the interpretation of Viking mythology that we propose, I have been in charge of writing the first titles of the Odin cycle, since they are the first in the chronology of this narrative universe.

ODIN AND THE NINE WORLDS

Odin's Cycle I

September 17, 2019

in Spain and Italy.

Creation is the outcome of the immemorial struggle between fire and ice, from which all things in existence are born.

When Odin Borson discovers the powers of his bloodline, that of the Gods, he lead his lineage to fight against the atrocious creatures that are keeping the creation in a state of chaos. He battles the primordial giants, such as Ymir and his descendants, the Frost Giants, and gives each race of beings a world to inhabit.

But he will not achieve all this without great sacrifices and the initiation in a terrible knowledge: the prophecy about the Fate of all that is created.

The mighty Norns reveal to him the existance of the Tree of Life, which holds everything together, the great ash tree Yggdrasil. And they make him aware of the song of creation, whose end it is the Ragnarök.
